J-Pod "Yet Again" Free DL
yet again by JPOD the beat chef
We played with FK5 recently, and Raskin dropped this ill remix of Aloe Blacc's "I need a Dollar" which had the whole place rocking. I hollared at J-Pod and dude was like hey brother, it's a free download off my site. I suggest checking out all his releases on his website, he does some really killer glitch hop ghetto funk style songs that just have that right amount of bounce.

Dj Day Remix Free DL
Shifting Gears (DJ Day alt mix) by DJDay
Day does a smooth mix of the Johnny Hammond classic and gives us a free download, just leave hommie a like or message. Also had a chance to check dude dj Delay's wedding this weekend, all I have to say is dude is on point. It was baby Haven's first time hearing a dj, and I am proud to say he heard Day laying down some killer Motown and funk cuts. Day is a really good dj, if you can get a chance to check him out, do it.

Kool G Rap Remixes Free DL
I came to find out about Kool G Rap via the Brand New Heavies album, Heavy Rhyme Experience where they recorded a bunch of songs with various rappers back in the 90's. I found his flow and Master Ace's flow to be really interesting and unique. I then ended up buying a couple of 12inches of his, but for whatever reason never really got into any of his albums. Anyway, I decided I would see if anyone on Soundcloud had done any remixes of his songs and low and behold I found some really good ones which are below for your downloading pleasure.
Kool G Rap vs. Oliver Daysoul - Kool G Daysoul (Juicemarket Edit) by Juicemarket Recordings
Kool G Rap ft. Nas vs Zhane (Blend) by HowlingMad123

Rock Master Rus B EP Drops May 19
1. Rock Master Rus B "Dirty Lowdown" Dirty Situation EP by Gazeebo International
I did a 3 song EP for Gazeebo records in exchange for a wonderful remix that Gazeebo did for Funk Weapons a while back. I could have just churned out 3 simple edits and sent them and been done, but I wanted to take the craft a bit further. So all three of the edits contain extra drums, keys and production. Furthermore, Frank helped me mix-down and he added some final touches to make them gel well. I'm really quite happy with the way they came out, and I'm proud to be on Gazeebo which is a fine label.
Making these also helped me break through my writers block, and begin working on some new AGFA tunes and some remixes for Funk Weapons. Hopefully I can find time to get back in the studio and finish them soon, but it's hard with a 17 month old and a 5 week old plying for my attention whenever I am at home. Anyway, I hope you dig them. I should be busting out some more free downloadable edits soon as I have 2 ideas running in my head I would like to finally finish up.
Check them out and pre-order now from Juno Records.

Intrigue - I like it (TZ EDIT) Free DL
TZ has been killing it as of recently with his edits, Tim Zawada is a producer out of Chicago and he puts a out a ton of free downloads via his soundcloud page. I usually download anything he puts out, and I always find something that grabs me. Well recently his re-edit of "I Like it" has been working it's way into my sets. Check out the tight beats, and butter smooth synths working your groove region into a lather.

Thanks to Turntable Lab for picking up and selling our latest EP from Kool Hertz. Its vinyl only, so if your in the states grab it from TTLab, in Europe holla at Juno Records via the link on the right hand side of the page. Its a flawless release and a true weapon of funk to have in your arsenal.
the lab review
Funk Weapons marks its 25th release with this EP from the UK's Kool Hertz. Excellent set of mashes here with a remix of Gangstarr's "Skills(1)," Stereo MCs' "Connected(2)," some vocoder fuzz funk(3), and a mash of "Hip Hop Hooray" and "Here Comes The Hotstepper(4)." Four for four.
