We had speed issues with our first pressing of the "Time to Roll" EP for Baffin Island. Something about the cd being at 48k and they burned it at 41k causing all the songs to be slower by about -8. So we had the record re-pressed, and I'm happy to say the test pressing sounded perfect. The new pressing should be out any minute now, so look for it at your local vinyl shop.

I came to find out about Kool G Rap via the Brand New Heavies album, Heavy Rhyme Experience where they recorded a bunch of songs with various rappers back in the 90's. Rock Master Rus B EP Drops May 19

1. Rock Master Rus B "Dirty Lowdown" Dirty Situation EP by Gazeebo International

I did a 3 song EP for Gazeebo records in exchange for a wonderful remix that Gazeebo did for Funk Weapons a while back. I could have just churned out 3 simple edits and sent them and been done, but I wanted to take the craft a bit further. So all three of the edits contain extra drums, keys and production. Furthermore, Frank helped me mix-down and he added some final touches to make them gel well. I'm really quite happy with the way they came out, and I'm proud to be on Gazeebo which is a fine label.

Making these also helped me break through my writers block, and begin working on some new AGFA tunes and some remixes for Funk Weapons. Hopefully I can find time to get back in the studio and finish them soon, but it's hard with a 17 month old and a 5 week old plying for my attention whenever I am at home. Anyway, I hope you dig them. I should be busting out some more free downloadable edits soon as I have 2 ideas running in my head I would like to finally finish up.

TZ has been killing it as of recently with his edits, Tim Zawada is a producer out of Chicago and he puts a out a ton of free downloads via his soundcloud page. I usually download anything he puts out, and I always find something that grabs me. Well recently his re-edit of "I Like it" has been working it's way into my sets. Huh Huh huhhh Kurtis Blow

Kurtis Blow, what can I say that haven't been said about dude. He was one of the Original M.C.'s out of New York to really break out big and become a huge star when hip hop was just breaking. He is way over-sampled, to the point that I never want to hear a "These are the breaks" sample again, ever. He broke big way back in 1979 with Christmas Rappin'. Copycat did a little re-edit of Rappin' Blow, which I posted a link too below, as Im sure the soundcloud will die any minute now. I also included "Party Time", which for me is the best Kurtis Blow song ever. As it featured home-town heroes Trouble Funk on the beat.
